Gilding, restoring and artistic foundries in Venice

You will visit a laboratory where you will learn how you restore and gild ancient works of art, furniture on different surfaces, such as stucco or wood, using ancient techniques. We will then wander around Cannaregio to reach a metal foundry specialised in brass objects. You will assist at the fusion process and understand how decorations are made of the kind you find on gondolas or on the doors of Venice.

While the laboratory for restoration and gilding is open on weekdays, the foundry experience takes place on Fridays only.
