The most important painting collection in Venice is hosted in the ancient site of the Scuola of Charity, the nearby monastery designed by Palladio and the gothic church Carità.
Here you can view the most-celebrated masterpieces of Venetian painters (and not just Venetian) from the origins in the early 14th century till the end of the Republic of Venice: works by Paolo Veneziano, Vivarini, Giorgione, Giovanni and Gentile Bellini, Vittore Carpaccio, Titian, Tintoretto, Paolo Veronese, Tiepolo and many other artists can be seen together with temporary exhibits on specific themes.
